Abstract: As a The American Board, founded in Boston in 1810, sent many mis-sionaries to the countries where it started to carry out its activities. Asahel Grant who is a doctor as well as his missionary and is sent to Urmiye is one of them. During his missionary activities carried out as a doctor, he often made travels to the distiricts where he was sent in order to analyse the region more closely. He sent the information he had obtained to the American Board as reports and also published his tavelogues titled as The Nestorians or the Lost Tribes in London in 1841. Moreover, he published his memories related to the his own experiences and the his activities titled as Memoir of Asahel Grant when he was in the region in London 1847. When both of these works are examined, it is seen that Grant gives detailed information about the histo-rical background, geography, population structure, struggles of the region and conflicts in the region. Therefore, in the following years, some countries shaped and determined their future policies towards the region according to this information. From this point of view, historically the works written in the form of memoir, travelgue or diary are important to analyze the history from every aspect. Therefore, the two works mentioned above will be evaluated from the fictional perspective by taking into account the information they gi-ve and the way the information is given. In this context, in our study, both of the above mentioned works. Then the source value of both woks will be dis-cussed from the historical point of view. Lastly, the information given in both works will be evaluated in terms of their consistency. As the proceeding di-rectly focuses on the examinationof both works in terms of fiction, method and the content, there has not been a wide range of works. Therefore, mainly the works of Asahal Grant will be dealt with and evaluated.
